Mini Gatefold Card for my 5K Giveaway!

Hello, hello! Been MIA due to some house renovations… but I’m settling back into crafting again now that my craft room is put back together (somewhat!)

Anyhow, let me jump right in and tell you about this amazing group I have. We can be found on Facebook, under the name Lawn Fawn Addicts! LF has & will always be my FIRST LOVE in this cute hobby of mine, hence the reason this group was started. Its been steadily growing and last week, we reached 5000 members!!! So in celebration, I am doing a giveaway, but, I’m making the members work for it! LOL. I could’ve been nice and just do a random drawing, but I really wanted to spark their creativity and also, gain inspiration for our growing albums. ♥ The task was to make a card using the GATEFOLD technique w/ a belly band or they could put their own spin on it and come up with a rendition of their own! The only hard rules were that it has to be posted in the 5K Giveaway album; with & w/o the band on, bright & happy colors, LF elements (duh) and it had to be a NEW project (which will turn into an inspiration album). They’ve been posting a way… and boy, do we have some amazing talent in this group! I’m so glad its going to be a random drawing because I would NOT be able to choose!

I was inspired to participate in making a card too… so I did! Two of them!

I made 2 mini, gift card holding, gatefold cards. Its hard to tell, but these cuties are 3×4, finished. I cut the base @ 6×4, scored @ 1 ½ & 4 ½. I cut out 2 mats for the front @1 ¼ x 3 ¾ . I cut out 2 bands; first one @ 6 ¼ x 1 and embossed that using the Sizzix coffee bean embossing folder. The other band I cut out at 6 ¼ x ¼ and stamped the little beans out using the Lawn Fawn Love You a Latte stamp set. Using the same stamp set, I stamped out 2 coffee cups and added some smiling faces to the cups. I pulled out the Mini Picture Frames by LF and lined them up to center those cups and ran it through my BigKick. (If you have these frame dies, you know that the frame and inside part comes apart, so I just taped them together on the backside so they would stay together!) I colored them using my Copic markers and colored the background as well to make the image pop.

Initially, these were going to just be mini cards… but then I thought about their size and decided they needed to be gift card holders instead. So I got out LF Stitched Gift Card Pocket die and die cut 2 of them out using some Doodlebugs Sugar & Cream cardstock! SO cute!!! It looked like it needed something else cause there was a lot of brown going on… so I stamped out those same cups w/ faces and colored them quickly and die cut them and added it to the pockets. I wanted to add a sentiment so I used the “for you” steamy stamp and added it above the pocket. This will be hidden behind the gift card.

To assemble, I adhered the mats on the front, the pocket on the inside… and WITH a gift card inside the pocket, I wrapped the band around the card and glued the ends together. I did this to give some room for the added dimension of the pocket & gift card, so the band can easily slide on and off. On the seam, I added the framed image.

Bada Bing! Bada Boom! Done! Well, I actually stamped out some tiny coffee beans and mounted it to the mug image because she was looking a little lonely. LOL.

BTW, I hunted and searched for a coffee gift card… and only found a Target one.. oh well.. you know what I was trying to do!!! LOL ♥

Thanks for stopping by!!  -Hugs, Kim!
